American Friend is a continually evolving photo essay of everyday life. For years now I’ve kept a small 35mm camera by me to capture little moments here and there such as cooking dinner, hanging out with friends, taking a walk, reading a book on the couch, etc. Whenever I feel like I can accurately capture what it feels like to be in the moment I take a photo. So this site is dedicated to the quiet moments, the happy accidents, the last pictures on the roll, the times when you’re not on the spot, and the times when no one is looking but you.

Tim Moore is a photographer / designer from Portland Oregon. Moore received his BFA in photography from Oregon State University in 2008 and went on to start Letter to Jane Magazine, the first independent publication for the iPad.
